I was a leader of an international campaign for a humanitarian organisation, mother to a 12 month old working on a global scale with meetings around the clock, while writing a novel in my “free time”. Then I got totally wiped out by pneumonia and at the same caught hand, foot and mouth disease from my son (it’s gross as it sounds BTW).
I had hit total burnout. It was then that I decided there must be a better way to make a positive impact on the world without sacrificing myself in the process.
